AMSOIL SEVERE GEAR is formulated with an extra-heavy treatment of additives and shear stable, heavy synthetic base oils for high film strength. It cushions metal surfaces and absorbs the impact of moving parts, protecting gears against wear in extreme conditions. Its proprietary extreme-pressure additives form an iron-sulfide barrier on gear surfaces for the ultimate line of defense against wear, pitting and scoring.
Provides Fast Protection
SEVERE GEAR doesn’t contain the irregularly sized and shaped molecules inherent to conventional oils. As a result, it provides excellent fluidity despite its high viscosity to quickly reach gears and bearings at startup. Its superior fluidity also reduces drag and energy loss, helping drivers put maximum power to the ground.

SEVERE GEAR is specifically engineered for high-horsepower, high-torque conditions where centrifugal gear lube sling-off is encountered. SERVICE LIFE
AMSOIL SEVERE GEAR Synthetic Racing Gear Lube is intended for severe racing and other applications where extended drain intervals are not beneficial. Change it as conditions dictate. Extend drain intervals only as recommended by oil analysis.
COMPATIBILITY
SEVERE GEAR Synthetic Racing Gear Lube is compatible with synthetic and conventional automotive gear oils. Mixing AMSOIL gear oil with other oils, however, will shorten the oil life expectancy and reduce its performance benefits.
Aftermarket oil additives, other than those specified by AMSOIL, are not recommended for use with AMSOIL gear oil.
APPLICATIONS
Use in hypoid gear differentials and other applications that require a high-viscosity API GL-5 gear lube, including off-road trucks, rock racers, rockcrawlers, pulling tractors, funny cars, dragsters, heavy-duty trucks and equipment where increased lubricant film is necessary. Where limited-slip performance is required, use AMSOIL Slip Lock® limited-slip additive.

used this in a 2016 TRD 4x4 Tundra 5.7 Supercharged 100,000 miles on the motor There are a number of other things I have done to the Engine,Exhaust, suppression. I have used other Amsoil product in the gear box on my 2016 Tundra with no problem. I just wanted to try the new SAE 250 I also used this product in my transfer case. The one thing I noticed is both front & Rear differential along with the Transfer case are a lot quitter. And by the way anything the gear grease touch it won't come off. Thank you Amsoil
Good Stuff
I've used Amsoil Severe Gear in race cars for a long time and have never had a failure due to lubrication (and believe that this product has actually made differentials last longer than standard lubes would have). So, when the differential in my Kia Sorento began humming a tune I figured that Severe Gear might help make the costly repair a little further off in the future. It's been a couple of months now and the noise had dramatically diminished. I'm confident that my differential's life has been extended...maybe even saved.
